Economics Department

About

The Economics Department has been offering courses of study since the establishment of the college in 1981, but only in the PU programme affiliated with NEHU. After the college was upgraded in 1987, BA courses with honours were introduced. The department, with the strength of three faculty members, has always been thriving to set a high standard in the teaching-learning process, with the goal of inculcating in students a desire to excel and develop a sense of responsibility towards society. However, as most of the students enrolled in the college hail from interior rural areas, this became a challenge for the department. Nonetheless, we as a department have been trying our best to draw out the full potential of the students and help them achieve success with excellent performance in their careers. The department incorporates the teaching methodology, which includes lectures, using a whiteboard and ICT tools, group discussions with paper presentations, and assignments.
