
Rules of the Library
1. General Rules for all Library Members:
- Each member must bring along with them their College Library Card.
- Members must scan their barcoded ID at the e-gate (kept at the entrance of the library) every time they enter and exit the library.
- Silence must be strictly observed inside the library.
- The library members are allowed to bring only writing materials inside the library.
- Carrying of eatables inside the library is not allowed.
- Other personal belongings such as bags, umbrellas, …etc., shall be kept in the space allotted.
- Books must be kept on the reading table after they have been taken out of the shelves.
- The members should not write or mark anything in the book with a pen, permanent marker, etc.
- The members must be responsible for the book which has been issued to them. If the book is lost or extensively damaged the reader must replace it with a new one.
- Making phone calls inside the library is not allowed.
2. Conditions for Loans (Students):
- Books will be issued against the production of a valid Library Identity Card.
- Each student can issue a total number of ‘three’ books.
- Students must return/ renew the books issued to them for a period of ‘14 days’ from the date of issue. Failing to do so, the student must have to pay a fine of Rs. 2 per day.
- Students cannot transfer library books to other students.
3. Conditions for Loans (Teachers)
- Each teacher can issue a total number of ‘10 books’ for each academic session.
- Teachers who wish to keep possession of the books needs to renew after each academic session.
4. Conditions for Loans (Non-teaching staff)
- Each Non- Teaching staff can issue a total number of 3 books.
- Books must be returned to the library 30 days from the date of issue.
Librarian
The Librarian is authorized to have the power
- To recall any book or books when necessary, even before the time specified in the date slip.
- To extend and renew the lending period of books.
- To suspend any students from entering the library on account of misbehavior and indiscipline.
- To stop issuing to such students as long as he/she is under the period of suspension.
- To inform the principal when such a situation arises, but depending on the nature and gravity of the situation.
