Services and Facilities of the Library

MEMBERSHIP


Following are the members of the College Library:

  • All teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
  • All students of the college.
  • Other persons not belonging to the college, but with prior permission from the college principal.


E-Gate


In order to save the library users' time and get the attendance of the staff and students who enter the library, an ILMS-Koha e-gate is kept at the library's entrance. Users have to scan the barcoded ID card every time they enter and exit the library.



OPAC


In order to enhance the use of library resources, an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is kept for students and staff, enabling them to access the library catalog.



COMPUTER WITH INTERNET FACILITY


For accessing e-resources, e-books, e-journals, past question papers, syllabi, etc, and internet browsing, computers are equipped with proper internet connection.



REFERENCE SERVICES


The Librarian and Assistant Librarian are always readily available to provide users with information regarding their needs, especially in the library services and its resources either in person or via email or phone call.



NEW ARRIVAL DISPLAY


Books or Journals that have just been purchased are kept on a separate shelf to make the users aware of the new resources available in the library.



PROPERTY COUNTER


While entering the library bags, umbrellas, etc., should be kept at the property counter since these items are not allowed inside the library. However, valuable items such as mobile phones, purses, wallets, laptops, etc., should not be kept at the property counter or anywhere in the library. The library authority will not be responsible for the loss, if any.



SCANNING, PRINTING AND PHOTOCOPYING SERVICE


The library provides a photocopy service that will enable students and staff to scan/print the documents and notes required for their academic purposes.



USER SERVICE


The library being the information sources provider conducts various programmmes like the Users’ Orientation programme, student development programme, etc. from time to time to enhance the user's use of the library sources and service, and in implementing the skills required for their academic activities.



LIBRARY AWARD


In order to enhance and motivate the students to make efficient use of the service and information sources available in the library, students will be awarded with “Best Library User Award”. The award will be given annually.
